A drawing of something special to you

Royden creates digital drawings from photographs, using the same techniques and principles he developed as a painter. His drawings often focus on structures, buildings, vehicles and landscapes — subjects where lines, shapes, light and atmosphere come together.

If there is something you would like to have drawn, you can commission Royden to create a drawing from your photograph.

Whether it is a place you love, a much-loved vehicle, a home, or something that holds a particular memory, the starting point is always the photograph.

Commissioned drawings start from €300.

How it works

01 — You send us a photograph

The process begins with a photograph. You can provide one yourself, or, if you prefer, we can help you find or create the right image to work from.

The photograph does not need to be professionally taken. What matters is that it contains something Royden can work with — an interesting structure, a particular atmosphere, beautiful lines or simply something that means something to you.

02 — Royden creates the drawing

Working on his iPad, Royden builds the drawing by hand, using techniques rooted in his experience as an oil painter.

Although the photograph is the starting point, the drawing is not a filter or a photographic reproduction. It is Royden’s interpretation of the image through his own way of working.

03 — Choose how you would like to receive it

The finished drawing can be supplied as a high-resolution digital file.

If you would prefer a physical artwork, we can also arrange a fine art print on carefully selected paper. Framing may be available as well.

We are currently working with a professional print and framing studio to ensure that the physical result receives the same attention to quality as the drawing itself.

The photograph

Every drawing begins with a photograph.

Images containing strong lines, interesting structures, buildings, vehicles, landscapes or beautiful light often lend themselves particularly well to his way of drawing.

But there are no strict rules.

If you have a photograph you love but are unsure whether it would make a good drawing, send it to us. We can look at it together.
